  • Precision-grinding needle points: PrecisionGrind PG2 uses a cassette system and automatic infeed unit 05.09.2014  

    The innovative needle grinding machine PG2 allows needle points to be ground quickly and precisely with diameters of 0.25 mm to 1.60 mm and lengths of 17 mm to 60 mm: At high speed the machine processes up to 850 parts per minute. read more

    Rapid infeed thanks to the cassette system

    What's special about PG2? The parts are fed into the machine via a cassette system and automatic infeed unit. This dispenses with the need for manual changes and infeeding. The speed of the transport and grinding wheel is infinitely variable – the angles can be motor-adjusted with a high degree of repeat accuracy. This makes the grinding process more flexible and significantly more cost-effective.

    Needle grinding machines with fast tooling times

    The grinding process is controlled with a high degree of precision via a state-of-the-art touch panel: All important parameters can be easily programmed. The length and shape of the point and the discharge output can also be easily adjusted. As a result, the machine guarantees extremely fast tooling times.

    The PG2's robust machine housing is designed in such a way that a technician or operator can easily access the components from all sides at any time.

    Jouhsen Bundgens will present a PrecisionForm MJ with a separate grinder and a PrecisonCut MJC3 at wire Dusseldorf from the 7th until the 11th of April 2014. read more

    The PrecisionForm MJ can produce special shaped pins in a multi-stage forming process. The grinder is ergonomically optimized and separated from the main machine so that no vibrations from the grinder influence the machine. A design detail that results in two distinct advantages; improved product quality and a higher degree of availability of the complete machine. One specialty also exhibited by the PrecisionCut MJC3 is short, burr-free, straight cut parts of just a few millimeters in length at the highest production quantities of 800 parts per minute.

    Jouhsen Bundgens has developed a production line for surgical needles. The unit is a modular construction that is designed to facilitate a large production output at high speed. Jouhsen-Bundgens uses high-precision laser technology manufactured by the Swiss partner ROFIN-LASAG. read more

    The Jouhsen Bundgens machine engineering company has developed a needle production line especially for the production of austenite needles with small diameter bores. Due to its modular design, the unit is able to integrate all of the necessary manufacturing processes required for the production of surgical needles from the straightened blank to the drilled needle blank. The bending process can also be optionally integrated.

    Up to two bores per second
    The unit is designed for top speeds: depending on the respective process steps, the unit can produce up to 120 needles per minute. The production line works fully automatically without the need of operator intervention. The machine is designed to accommodate 3-shift-24-hour operation. Servo drives additionally ensure short set-up times.

    Precision drilling with laser technology
    Maximum positioning accuracy ensures precision results. Jouhsen Bundgens has calibrated this unit to accommodate laser technology manufactured by the Swiss partner ROFIN-LASAG. One laser drills the needles and another laser then rounds off the edges. If necessary, a mechanical drilling station can also be optionally integrated in order to drill larger diameters.

These parts are straightened, cut and cold-formed within a multistage process, in top quality and with exceptional speed and precision.     The Interwire is the international exhibition for wire and cable and is held every two years in Atlanta. It is North America's most important trade fair for wire and cable machinery, and associated products.

    This year the focus of the exhibition are among other wire machines for wire processing, wire making machinery and machinery for the manufacture of wire products.
